Using Securus Technologies to Find Dangerous Fugitives

When my team of fugitive hunters are given a new case, we feel that rush of excitement about getting another dangerous felon off the streets. The trouble with our latest suspect was he had so many connections that he was able to stay ahead of us at every turn. This was one of those cases we were going to have to rely on technology to be able to locate and capture this suspect.

When we visited our state prison to speak to suspects, one of the guards allowed us to see the new Securus Technologies call monitoring system in action. The telephone system using LBS software to monitor every second that each inmate uses the phones inside the jail Instead of us needing to talk to the inmates, we thought we could use this technology to bring out the suspect more easily.

All my team did was mention the suspects name to a few of the inmates we knew he might have associations with, and then we walked away. What happened next was the LBS software sent out an alert this suspect was being talked about, so we listened a little closer. We discovered that his friends were calling friends on the outside to warn them that the net was closing in and he should stay in hiding.

Securus Technologies to date now has this telephone monitoring system in several thousands of jails all over this country. The CEO, Richard Smith, talks about the company objective of making our world safer, and 1,000 employees all seem to share his vision. This Dallas-based company certainly walks the walk when it comes to stopping crime.

Now that we had the names of people in his inner circle, we decided to follow them more closely and found the suspect 3 days later asleep on the couch of a close friend.
