Jose Borghi is one of the most brilliant advertising professionals in Brazil today and has one of the best track records in the industry. Having started his career in 1989 after completing his graduation in advertising from the Pontifical Catholic University, he began working at the Standard Ogilvy, which is one of the biggest advertising agencies in the world. While at Ogilvy, he gained exposure to the advertising world and understood the dynamics of the field, which later helped him tremendously. After leaving Standard Ogilvy, he worked with many other firms, including Talent, FCB, DM9/DDB, Leo Burnett, and more.
Finally, in 2002, he started his company, BorghieErh Creative Intelligence with his long-time friend and colleague, Erh Ray. Even though he didn’t have much capital to initiate the advertising company or had a great set up like the other main advertising companies, he helped the firm reach the top few in the business in a very short span of time.
In 2006, his company merged with Lowe International. And, in 2012, the firm again merged with another advertising giant, Mullen, and the conglomerate was named as Mullen Lowe Brazil. The company is the third largest in Brazil today and handles several hundred clients not only from Brazil but many other countries.
