Joe Burton Award for Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment André Des Rochers

André Des Rochers specializes in film and television transactions and represents production entities and independent producers. He is a trained attorney with several years of industrial experience in the film and television industry, including as an executive at Columbia Pictures and producer of several films, including What Lies Beneath, starring Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer. His work has been recognized in such publications as The Hollywood Reporter and on-screen in the films My Insiders.

 

On it, starring Jeremy Piven, and The Extraordinary Seaman, starring Pierce Brosnan. He was also a member of the Screen Actors Guild Board of Directors as André Des Rochers informs. He has represented clients in hundreds of transactions during his career, including for USA Networks, The Walt Disney Company, Columbia Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, Universal Pictures, and Village Roadshow Pictures. Mr. Des Rochers is a member of the State Bar of California.

 

Also an active member of the Bar Association of San Francisco, the American Bar Association Forum on Entertainment Law, and the Independent Film & Television Alliance. He has been honored with the “Joe Burton Award for Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment” by UCLA School of Law. Just recently, André Des Rochers was named one of Variety’s “Rising Stars in Entertainment,” a distinction which listed him as one of Hollywood’s leading attorneys under 40.

 

Mr. Des Rochers is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University and attended the UCLA School of Law, where he was an editor of the law journal and recipient of the Honorary Doctorate of Law from SJSU. He also sits on the board of directors of Bay Area Legal Aid (Instagram).

 

What is your current position at Granderson Des Rochers, LLP?

 

The firm identifies itself as a boutique entertainment law firm. He specializes in all things relating to film and television production, financing, and distribution. Daily, he handles business formation and transactions, such as acquisitions or sales of film and television assets (including rights), domestic/international financings, and distribution agreements. André Des Rochers also represents independent producers/crews in film and television-related lawsuits. My particular area of concentration is in film and television financing and distribution.
