Many forms of communication exist, such as face-to-face, emails, conference calls, and video calls. Choosing the proper form of communication for the right situation is essential. A work emergency is better handled by a phone call rather than an email that may take a while to address the problem. The clarity in communication is about distributing the information in tandem with the form chosen.

According to Hanif Lalani, using the correct jargon and having the right knowledge for a particular industry are critical to avoid confusion and misinformation. Leading by example Is very important for leaders. Actions should back the information relayed, and the leader should take the lead in showing the path.

Some of the five strategies a leader can use to improve communication include.

Get everyone on the same page on what communication to use and when.

Have regular meetings.

Follow up verbal communication with written documentation. This provides essential reference material.

Create a feeling of belonging and team spirit.

Hanif Lalani also believes that automating processes leads to more productivity and efficiency. Doing everything manually utilizes a lot of energy that may have been used to increase performance. Automating project management systems, workflows, and approval processes reduces errors and promotes efficiency.
