When it comes to railroad freight car engineering, the name Greg Aziz stands out. He just so happens to be the CEO, president, and chairman of the Walter Kidde Railcar. This company is a leading manufacturer of railway cars in Hamilton, Ontario. The industry leader was born in London, Ontario in 1949. 

 

His educational background spans from attending Ridley College to graduating from the University of Western Ontario. He used his economics major to build a successful and profitable career in railway car engineering. The railroad industry leader would go on to work in New York via investment banking throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Greg Aziz purchased the Walter Kidde Railcar in 1994. His education, passion, and talent transformed the company into a huge success, especially since it was on the decline in recent years. 

 

By 1999, the company expanded its production from 3,500 cars to nearly 12,000 cars before the year 2000. Under the leadership of Greg Aziz, employment also grew from 600 to 3,000 individuals. As of 2023, the Walter Kidde Railcar is still a leading manufacturer of railway cars, and the success of this brand is owed to Greg Azziz.
