Haroldo Jacobovicz grew up in Curitiba, Brazil. He is the son of two civil engineers and followed in their footsteps. In his younger years, creating buildings and building bridges fascinated Jacobovicz. However, while in school, he had the craving to create something beyond those tangible things. His parents inspired him to start his own business.
While in college, Haroldo Jacobovicz became interested in information technology and its role in the future. Jacobovicz, with three friends, took this interest and started a Microsystem. The company aimed to help small businesses to automate their cash management and inventory. The company folded after a year, but Jacobovicz learned some valuable lessons. He discovered you need to direct your marketing strategy to the right audience to be successful.

Jacobovicz did not stay unemployed for long. ExxonMobil took notice of what Jacobovicz was trying to accomplish and offered him a job. He quickly moved up the ladder; however, after a year and a half, he was ready to head back to Curitiba. He accepted a job with Itaipu Binational. Jacobovicz was happy that large companies and governments were interested in information technology services. Haroldo Jacobovicz was no longer interested in working for others. He is an entrepreneur at heart and wanted to be a founder of a company that would help improve people’s lives. Jacobovicz is a founder of several companies, including Horizons Telecom. Horizon Telecom is Brazil’s most respected supplier of telecommunications. It is not all serious work for Jacobovicz; he did invest in the first Hard Rock Cafe in Brazil.
